Who Am I?

A Native of This City

I love Providence. I am a child of this Ward, and I grew up here in the neighborhoods I now represent.

I am a professional woman, a wife, and a mom, who now lives on Pleasant Valley Parkway with my husband, attorney Thomas J. Ryan. We are the proud parents of two adult children (Brendan and Megan), who are also active members of this community.

My parents were hard-working people. My mom, Eve Flanagan, worked 12-hour days in her beauty salon in the heart of the Ward on Academy Ave. , while my dad, Tom Flanagan, was a Providence police officer.

My strong work ethic comes from the quiet examples they set for me. And it's this same work ethic (along with passion and business experience) that I bring to my role as Councilwoman, proudly advocating for my constituents and merchants in Elmhurst, Manton, and Mt. Pleasant — the neighborhoods that make up this great Ward!

Fiscally Focused

I have a solid career in Finance. Currently, I am a Vice President at Customers Bank, and my forward-thinking financial programs have won numerous awards for helping working-class families become homeowners throughout the City.

In all, I have 30+ years of Banking industry experience here in Rhode Island, where my focus has been on asset management. I began my Finance career at Providence College, where I first earned a B.S. and then an M.B.A in Business Administration.

MY Notable Career Achievements

  • Program Compliance Officer - Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation

  • Assistant Vice President - Old Stone Bank and Rhode Island Hospital Trust

  • Certifications in Home-Ownership Counseling & Foreclosure Prevention

A Dedicated Councilor

I take my role as Ward representative seriously, and during my time on the Providence City Council, my dedication to my community and City has earned me some pretty great achievements:
